Kin Food
Demonkin (or any kin that crave bloody food) might try pomegranate tea. it tastes a little fruity, and is blood red. the longer you steep it, the deeper the red

I’d look at the horsekin tag. And the wildcrafting tag. I’m not entirely sure what else would be helpful.

Hey I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but some of those Aloe drinks are REALLY thick and goopy, and the one I tried recently had jelly-ish bits of aloe floating in if. I thought this might be interesting for marine-kin, or gooey monsters, aliens or any others with an interest in drinking something slime-like (it also reminds me I blood plasma a little). Rock rock on friends!

Hi! I'm a shadow elemental, and I look for foods that are dark in color but cold and light and not too sweet or anything, because that's the closest I can get to shadows. I looked through the elementalkin tag but couldn't really find anything, and I tried the faekin and demonkin tags too, but again not really much luck... Any recommendations?

Okay, I’m gonna suggest looking at something like dark berry ice creams (especially ice creams you make yourself, where you can add flavours to taste). Smoothies made with tangy berries and whip or light milk are probably a good bet too.

So I’d say check out

i am a vocaloid fictive, specifically len kagamine, and i would like to know what sweet banana recipes you could suggest for me.

We have a bananas tag and pretty much everything in there is sweet. Are you looking for more?

pig bodies are pretty similar to human bodies in terms of - among other things - what diseases they can contract, so pig blood is illegal in some places because of the chances it could be carrying blood-borne diseases that human bodies are also susceptible!

Yes, exactly! Pigs are actually very, very similar to humans in terms of physiology, which is partly why diseases can bounce between us so well.

Plus, I wonder how many people try to use it for illegal transfusions. Hmm…

Is blood safe to eat if it's cooked? (Do you know if animal blood tastes different than human blood? I'm only really familiar with the taste of my own)
Anonymous

It depends on what kind it is, and how it’s cooked.

Maybe I’m kind of biased, but I’d stay away from pork blood in general. Beef is the way to go.

As for how to cook it, the most common ways I’ve seen are blood sausage and blood bread.

And I’m not sure how it tastes, I haven’t had it before (other than the stuff that leaks out of my steak).

Let me know if you have more questions!

Do you have any suggestions for Hellhoundkin on low budgets? I can't afford a lot of fancy meat or anything...

Ah! This one I can actually hit head on because, holla, it’s right up my alley. When I went to university, I pretty much had zip money for food. But I did manage to find some things that helped.

  • Jerky. Meat sticks of any kind. If you have a local farmer’s market, that’s an awesome place to look. Some farmers markets have a whole lot of different meats (I am in love with kangaroo meat. For some reason it’s just my favourite), and they usually have them pretty cheap. Also look out for bulk.
  • BERRIES! Blackberries, mostly. Great texture, awesome flavour, usually cheap. Other berries work too, like strawberries or blueberries. But I just don’t think they’re as good
  • Instant noodles. You can add ANYTHING to them. Spices, veggies, bits of jerky. Some packages of instant noodles are like 25 cents. So worth it

Other than that, I’m not really all that sure. I’ll keep poking around, but that’s what I can think of right off the top of my head.
